About
A 3-Hour CEU for Curious (and Cautious) Clinicians. AI is already touching our clients’ lives whether we’re ready or not. And while it’s tempting to reject the technology outright, ignoring it won’t protect the people we serve. Clients are already engaging with AI by using chatbots to process trauma, to self-diagnose, or to “talk things out” when no one else is available. We’re also hearing stories of chatbot psychosis, AI-assisted suicide and documentation tools that quietly auto-populate your notes. Some find temporary comfort while others spiral into dependency, confusion, or harm. That’s why this training exists. Not to promote AI. But to equip you to recognize when it’s showing up in session and respond ethically, protectively, and without panic. This CEU centers trauma-informed, equity-minded care for a digital age. It helps you recognize where AI amplifies harm and how to respond with grounded ethics when clients bring it into the room. 🔍What You’ll Learn This is a AI 101 type workshop where we dive into what exactly is AI vs LLM’s and where we come across them on a day to day basis. * Equity implications of generative AI: what bias looks like and where it hides so that clients and clinician alike can make informed decisions around their use of AI. * What is parasocial attachment and chatbot dependency and how does it show up in the room * Ethical frameworks for protecting privacy, consent, and client autonomy * How to write your own AI Use Plan to define where your red lines are and how to uphold them confidently 🧠 What’s Included: * 3 CEUs for Texas-based clinicians (LCSWs, LPCs, LMFTs) - Meets 50% rule and ethics requirements * Post training Resource Guide containing AI ethical use guidance, references to studies, and enacted/upcoming laws around AI in therapy.
