Kitty Ferguson-Mappus is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a comprehensive background in social work, mental health, and healthcare obtained through the prestigious University of Texas at Austin - Steve Hicks School of Social Work. She holds a Master of Science in Social Work, is EMDR Certified, and passionate about client driven outcomes in her work.
Kitty brings a unique perspective to her practice, drawing from both personal and professional experiences as a patient and mental health provider working with clients who face medical complexities, addiction, and trauma. Her experience and expertise ranges from working with teens in foster care, the elderly receiving care in assisted living, palliative care settings, patients with chronic illness, complex trauma, grief, eating disorder in the in patient and PHP settings, and addiction.

With her diverse set of qualifications, Kitty is an eating disorder specialist, Certified Medical Social Worker, Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, and a former first responder. She has also received specialized training in Neurobiology through the Mindsight Institute working hand in hand with its founder Daniel Siegal. These certifications and experiences have further enriched her ability to support individuals in their healing journey.

Kitty's dedication to providing compassionate care led her to develop Unbroken Abundance where she currently practices. Her primary focus is on helping individuals and couples overcome trauma, reclaiming a sense of joy, freedom, and embodiment. She works well with folks of all ages including the 65+ community, Police Officers, Firefighters, EMT's, couples, those struggling with body image and their relationship with food, and folks exploring alternative lifestyles. Pretty much nothing phases her!
She approaches her work with authenticity, generosity, and compassion, drawing on her training and lived experiences to form strong connections with her clients. She also works in unique ways to get clients on the road to feeling better as quickly as possible.

Through her expertise as a Certified Medical Social Worker obtained through her affiliation with the Dell Medical School department of health social work, Kitty understands the unique challenges faced by patients and their families in medical settings. Her specialized training enables her to provide holistic support, addressing not only the medical aspects but also the mental and emotional well-being of her clients. She is dedicated to working inter-collaboratively with clients and their providers so that her patients receive the highest quality of care possible.

Outside of the therapy room, Kitty enjoys scuba diving with her family, hiking, enjoying nature, and gardening. She often incorporates elements of the natural world in her work with clients. She definitely includes lots of laughter, joy, and playfulness as well. Who says therapy has to be scary and serious all the time? She doesn't!
